about abstraction dance company

MORE THAN A DANCE COMPANY

We believe dance is more than movement.
It’s connection, creativity, and a place to belong. Abstraction was built for dancers who want to keep growing, creating, and performing in an environment where artistry and community come first.

Our story

Dance has a way of bringing people together, but finding a place to continue dancing beyond high school or college isn’t always easy. Many talented dancers eventually stop training—not because they lose their passion, but because they lose access to meaningful opportunities.

Abstraction Dance Company was created to change that.

Founded in Arizona, Abstraction is a contemporary dance company and creative community built around consistent training, original choreography, mentorship, and performance opportunities. Rather than focusing solely on competition or recreation, we provide a place where dancers can continue challenging themselves artistically while building lasting relationships with others who share the same passion.

Every class, rehearsal, concept video, workshop, and performance is designed with one goal in mind: helping dancers continue evolving as artists while becoming part of something bigger than themselves.

KYLIE REDDING

COURTNEY SKYE

Abstraction Dance Company was founded by Kylie Redding and Courtney Skye, two choreographers and educators who share a passion for creating meaningful dance experiences that extend beyond the studio.

Together, they have spent years training, performing, choreographing, directing, and mentoring dancers across Arizona. Their experience spans professional performance, choreography, dance education, concept video production, and community-building, all with the belief that technical excellence and artistic expression should always grow together.

Rather than creating another dance studio, Kylie and Courtney set out to build a place where dancers could continue training, performing, collaborating, and finding creative fulfillment long after traditional programs end.

Our mission is to create a community where dancers never feel like their journey has to end.

Through weekly contemporary dance classes, choreography-based training, mentorship programs, performances, and collaborative creative projects, we help dancers continue developing both their technical skills and their artistic voice.

We believe growth happens through consistency, creativity, and genuine connection. Every opportunity at Abstraction is designed to challenge dancers while encouraging confidence, curiosity, and self-expression.
