Abstraction Dance Company welcomes adult and teen dancers from Mesa, Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and throughout the East Valley to audition for our creative training programs. Whether you’re interested in our Youth Mentorship Program, Adult Company, or flexible Adult Drop-In Program, our video audition process is designed to help us get to know you—not to intimidate you.

Technical ability is important, but so are creativity, performance quality, musicality, curiosity, and a willingness to grow.

youth mentorship
Designed for dancers ages 9–17, our Youth Mentorship Program combines advanced contemporary training, mentorship, original choreography, and performance opportunities in a supportive environment that encourages artistic growth and confidence. It’s ideal for dedicated young dancers who are ready to challenge themselves while becoming part of a close-knit creative community.
adult company
Our Adult Company is for dancers who want to continue training, rehearsing, creating, and performing beyond the traditional studio experience. Through weekly rehearsals, original choreography, concept videos, and live
performances, members become part of a collaborative company that values both artistic excellence and genuine community.
drop-in program (18+)
The Adult Drop-In Program offers a flexible way to stay involved in the creative process without committing to every Sunday rehearsal. Join available Adult Company rehearsals, participate in select choreography and performances, and stay connected through our Drop-In community whenever your schedule allows.

HOW TO JOIN
The Audition Process
Step 1
Attend a weekly class (recommended but not required). Get a feel for our training environment and meet our community.
Step 2
Submit a video audition via Instagram DM, email, or the submission form below. Show us your movement quality, artistry, and personality.
Step 3
Directors review your submission. We’ll determine which program is the best fit based on your goals, experience, and availability.
Step 4
If accepted, we’ll guide you through registration, onboarding, and your first rehearsal.

We do not hold in-person auditions.
Abstraction Dance Company accepts video auditions year-round.
While our official season begins each August or September and we actively promote auditions throughout the summer for a new season, dancers are welcome to audition at any time during the season and may be considered for current or future opportunities.

Please submit a 30-60 second dance video (choreography or improv) demonstrating contemporary, jazz or fusion styles.

Absolutely. Many dancers choose to attend class before submitting a video audition.

Not at all. Dancers from all studios, teams, companies, and training backgrounds are welcome.
Because we are non-competitive, we welcome dancers to join Abstraction in addition to any other programs or teams they may be a part of as long as their availability allows.

We primarily focus on contemporary and jazz-based movement, but we welcome dancers with training in all styles.

Most audition submissions receive a response within one to two weeks.

After submitting your video audition, our team will review your application and reach out via email with an update.
If accepted, we’ll provide all the information you need to get started, including program details, expectations, schedules, tuition, and next steps.
